April 30, 2026
Dear Family in Christ,
It is with a deeply grateful and prayerful heart that we write to you today. After much seeking of God’s will and discerning His direction, I have made the difficult decision to resign as Lead Pastor of Maiden Lane Church, effective June 30, 2026. We have accepted God’s call to lead the Sumter First Church of God, Sumter, SC.
This stepping away from Maiden Lane is not without a heavy heart, for this church family has been our spiritual home, our source of encouragement, and our place of ministry. Together we have laughed, wept, worshiped, and grown in faith. Lori and I will forever cherish these moments. The bonds we have formed go beyond titles and responsibilities. You have become dear friends and extended family that we will always hold close in prayer and love. This Sunday, May 3, 2026, I will share the journey that led us to this decision.
We want to thank each one of you for your trust, patience, support, and unwavering faith. Your servant hearts and dedication to God’s work have inspired us daily. While we are excited about the new chapter God has opened before us, we will deeply miss the warmth, fellowship, and shared vision we have cultivated together.
Please know that this decision was rooted in a sincere desire to follow God’s leading, and we believe He has great things in store for Maiden Lane Church as you continue to serve Him with faithfulness and joy. We are committed to helping ensure a smooth and gentle transition and will remain prayerfully connected with you as you embark on the next season of ministry.
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ sustain us all, and may His unfailing love guide Maiden Lane Church into a future filled with hope, growth, and abundant blessings.
With all our love and prayers,
Matt & Lori Roe
